Letter from the President

Our current roster sits around 135 brothers. We recently initiated 39 new members in November. As a rush chairman for the new pledge class, I can attest to the caliber of our newly recruited members. They will certainly represent Beta and the Delta Zeta chapter well.
In the fall we ranked 6th overall among Auburn fraternities, we hope to further our progress in improving grades and be ranked in the top 5 next year as we just missed that mark this year.
One of my main goals as President is getting the Delta Zeta chapter more involved in the community and contributing to philanthropy events. I feel as each brother in our fraternity gives back to the community and serving for various philanthropies, he will develop more pride for Auburn and the Delta Zeta chapter. We have begun to implement this by recently supporting a Pakistani child named Amir through a non profit organization called Developing Hope. The brothers unanimously agreed to donate $140 per month to support Amir, bringing cash and change to every chapter. We are also going to begin routinely offering our time as a chapter to help out with the Boys and Girls club before the end of next month. Also, for the brothers who are interested, we are giving them resources to be involved in various campus ministries and local churches. Our philanthropy event this spring benefitted Gameday for Heroes by means of a hot wing competition.
We recently built a deck in the back yard, put up a new volleyball net and put new sand on the court all to promote brotherhood at the house. Cosmetic improvements were also made to the front room and the girls bathroom downstairs. We have a few ideas in the works to build a patio in the front of the house and possibly grow ivy up the face of the house. We are also consulting with Brasfield and Gorrie for longterm renovations.
The Delta Zeta chapter has always prided ourselves in our campus involvement. We are Certainly one of the most involved on campus. Currently boasting Auburn University's reigning SGA President, Kirby Turnage--his election made 4 out the last 6 Auburn SGA presidents to come out of our Delta Zeta Chapter. We also have the IFC VP of Risk Mgmt and the IFC Director of Recruitment; The college of business president and VP; multiple SGA cabinet members, 6 freshmen on Tiger Tuesdays-Auburn's freshman SGA committee, 2 senators in the college of building science and 1 senator in the college of Engineering. We also have 5 brothers that are Tiger Hosts.
We look forward to a great semester in Auburn. War Eagle!
